Friday evening, just down the street from the Ruidoso Downs Racetrack, the first night of the 2021 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale commenced. Hip #1-180 were presented.

The high seller for the night was First Texas Flash, a colt by First Moonflash out of Stylish Jess BR. He was consigned by Julianna Hawn Holt and purchased by West Texas Racing Partnership for $800,000.

Two colts and one filly sold for $220,000, and two more colts sold for $200,000.  A total of 24 yearlings brought bids of $100,000 or higher.

The Speedhorse booth offered guests their first look at the September issue of Speedhorse Magazine. The weather was cool with a pop up rainstorm typical for the Ruidoso Mountains. There was a large crowd and great deal of excitement as the anticipation for the weekend's races builds.
